sparking the chance at even

now faces lost in joy              locks

wildly streaming                    steel

plastic spur and spark

uh oh one’s stalled                 next

the whole assembly’s going

about perhaps                         a sled

a maypole if it’s early summer

(countryside cancelling the cityscape now)

we know what we mean when we say it

or think we know                   thank

goodness now it’s over

spaces in the distant branches
